This Laurel sits at one of the popular junkyards. I’m not sure what it looks like currently but, when I took this pic, I was pretty much in love with it.
Noteworthy points:
1. The front fenders are vented not widened. They looked to be stock metal with large vents and mesh installed.
2. The interior was pretty thrashed from age and sun-rot.
3. C33′s are rad as hell.

What you see above: Rasty outlet pipe, Cat-delete, Cusco front and rear sway bars, and Yanack rear camber arms. The front sway bar has been installed and the rear has been sold – plan executed to perfection! (If you recall, I installed a Cusco rear bar many moons ago.)

I hit the track again yesterday and was surprised to find I was sharing the track with only one other car. A private track day without the costs! A lot of track time with cool down time being the only thing causing me to take breaks. The car felt wonderful with the new Cusco front sway bar (just installed the night prior) as well as the TRD 2-way. It was my first time drifting with the new diff and it is a night and day difference from the stock torsen! Love it!
There’s a few more words in the video descriptions if you go to Vimeo and have a look.
On my way home…

In its natural surroundings.
When I saw these two sitting next to each other in the parking area at the Okinawa Motor Festival, I new it was too good to pass up – two fine examples of 180′s built in completely different manners. We’ll start with the matte, camo green 180 you see above…

Not fifty pieces of flare but flare none-the-less.

For those of you following the Track Duty build, my title will make sense; however, the rest of you may think me a perv. Haha
After figuring out where I left off, it is time to start again. When I last left you, I had the basic cage structure made and had the main hoop bars and “Nascar” bars remaining. They would then be followed by forward footings, welding, and corner bracing. Normally, I would show you pictures and have you follow me through the build, but I did all the above already.

It seems like I was just doing a write-up for the 2010 Okinawa Motor Festival, but here I am back at it with some pics from the 2011 Okinawa Motor Festival. Much like last time, my notification of the event was happenstance – then it was a poster on a restaurant’s wall and this time it was a flier from the event organizer/promoter, D-Stage, as I just stopped by to check out their shop. A week later and I would have missed it.
Being a pretty small island, I expected the driver turn out to be pretty much the same; therefore, I didn’t plan much by way of camera memory. Only 79 pics to be exact. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find the field split between returning and new competitors. I had also learned last time that my camera isn’t really up to the task of shooting action shots, so I stuck to statics. And as much as I enjoy drifting, I really enjoy looking all the cars over. I hopped around the pits while the different run groups were cycling taking in a few runs now and then.

Because a video is worth a thousand pics:
I spent the better part of the day swapping my diffs – pumpkin for pumpkin. That is a BIG one man job! The JZX pumpkin makes the Nissan R200 housing seem like a tennis ball. Having now swapped both types solo…this was a BEAST! To jump to the punchline, it was a success. I emerged from under the car beating my chest yelling “I AM ALL THAT IS MAN!!!!!” Seriously, I was ecstatic to get the first front mount bolt started; at that point, I knew I had it. I got it in on the first try. All be it that try was a 30 minute wrestling match, but I never had to put the diff down to restart. PROUD.
