Greg has been doing some random paint work on our Dad’s F350. It has seen a lot of miles towing (a lot of our projects – thanks, Dad!) and has taken some wear. First up was the rear bumper which had some rust and flaking chrome. Dad was talking about murdering out his truck and wanted to start there. In reality, I think he just said, “Greg, my rear bumper is rusty. Can you clean it up?” So Greg repainted it a matching shade of black.
Seeing how shiny and new the bumper looked, Dad started looking over the truck for other projects. “Greg, my aluminum wheels are pitted and looking a bit haggard. Can you dress them up?” So Greg bead blasted them, whipped up a gunmetal-ish shade of grey, and resprayed them.
Dad’s pretty charmed with both enhancements thus far and I believe some more de-chroming is in the works. The running boards and front bumper might find themselves matching the rear before too long.
